Today clients took part in Managing My Medication refresher course, this updated and refreshed our skills when handling medications.          

Christmas Festivities

Clients enjoyed taking part in a wide range of Christmas themed activities including: Tom the Music Man Hot Chocolate and Christmas Movie Day Arts & Crafts Visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus & Olaf Christmas Quiz Christmas Drum Fit

Clay Making

Clients made Christmas clay decorations. We rolled out the clay, used cookie cutters ( Star, gingerbread man, house, candy cane, angel, holly, & Christmas Tree) Once the clay was dry we used acrylic paint pens to decorate them, we added wool so we can hang them on our Christmas tree.      

Christmas Karaoke ?

Clients and staff at the Centre thoroughly enjoyed a Christmas Karaoke and sing along to our favourite Christmas songs/Carols.  

Bag Making

Clients enjoyed taking part in a bag making workshop with Noel Lyons From ARC21. We used old t-shirts to make our bags.      

‘Seeing Sound’ Experiment

Today we got involved in ‘Seeing Sound’ Experiment. We used a bowl, cling film and rice. When we played the instrument close to the bowl the sound waves made the rice move. We also used jars and water to make the different sounds. We were able to play ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.’    

Halloween Activities

Clients have enjoyed a range of activities on the lead up to Halloween including: Halloween themed skittles Carving/paining pumpkins Bingo Quiz Games / dancing with friends in Nursing Home Halloween work booklets karaoke Music with Hannah dressing up    

Half moon cushions

Noel Lyons – (Waste promotions officer from ARC21 – which runs through Lisburn and Castlereagh Borough Council) came out to the Centre and made half moon cushions with the clients.    

Arts Encounter Poem

Arts Encounter Programme

Over the course of 5 weeks Christine from The Island Art Centre Art’s Encounter Programme came  to the Centre to do some dancing/drama/singing/dressing up and games.
