Nikki (Empathy Creations) has been doing a 6 week art therapy course with clients at the Centre funded by the local Aghalee Village Hall. We have made our own brooches, pens, journals, and macramé vases. Clients really enjoyed this and we all leant some new craft techniques.
On Wednesday 12th March 2025 a group of clients completed Walk Leader Assistant training with Wendy McDowell- Walking for Health Co-ordinator
On Tuesday 4th March clients enjoyed making our own pancakes with our favourite toppings on them. We even had a wee mishap with one landing on the floor after being flipped.
On Tuesday the Villa group made bracelets and necklaces from a jewellery making kit.
As part of our Valentine’s Day work, we focused on ourselves and the importance of Self Love/focusing on ourselves. Clients took part in group chats with their peers, discussing what we thought each others good characteristics are, completed worksheets, created poems and made Valentines day cards, made clay hearts with positive words
Clients at the Centre recycled coffee jars to make valentine themed heart vases. We used heart templated to help us create the hearts on our jars. We choose tissue paper to decorate our jars, used lights and flowers to decorate.
Over the course of 2 weeks clients enjoyed taking part in a ‘love’ and ‘Valentine’s’ themed art therapy with Nikki Empathy Creations funded by Aghalee Village Hall
During the week some clients took part in Fire safety Awareness Refresher Training. This gives us the opportunity to refresh and update our current fire safety awareness skills.
On Friday 31st January. clients enjoyed designing their own coasters. We drew our designs onto a page first and then copied these onto the cork coasters. We used, markers, acrylic pens, paints to make our designs.
Clients at the Centre enjoyed learning about Robert Burns, we typed out facts on him and we listened to songs he created including the very famous ‘Auld Lang Syne’.
