?Earth Day ?

The Blackstone group have been learning about Earth Day (22nd April) – we enjoyed an outdoor scavenger hunt, worksheets and did art pieces.        

World Art Day

World Art Day took place on 15th April 2024, to celebrate this the Villa key group completed a fantastic 4-piece art project using: paints, felt-tip pens, crayons, colouring pencils and glue. You will see the finished piece in our photographs below:

??Easter Closure Dates ??

The Centre will be closed on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd April 2024 for the Easter break. We hope you all have a lovely Easter.        

Easter Time

The clients in the Blackstone have enjoyed taking part in Easter activities including; arts and crafts, Easter bingo, Easter egg hunt, Easter worksheets, Easter baking.  

Easter Baking

Easter baking- the Gallery group made individual cheesecake cups and coloured them yellow and pink and decorated with sugar carrots and flowers, they also made Malteaser traybake buns and decorated fairy cakes with yellow and pink icing to match the cheesecake cups. Everyone had fun crushing biscuits and mixing up the cheesecake

Farm Project

The Villa key group recently completed a Farm Project, where they learnt all about the different animals that you might find on a farm including: cows, horses, goats, chickens, pigs, dogs, cats and ducks. We learnt how all these animals feed us through their milk, eggs and meat. We learnt about the

Global Recycling Day

For Global Recycling Day we had the pleasure of Joanne (Lisburn and Castlereagh Borough Council) visiting the Centre to do a talk on the different types of things we can recycle. She talked us through the different coloured bins and what should go into each of these. We played a game of

Big Garden Bird Watch

Recently The Centre was registered to join in the Big Garden Bird Watch and we had several clients from the Villa key group go out into the local area to see how many different species of birds we could count. During our nature trail clients saw: black birds robins magpies dunnocks house

St Patrick’s Day

Clients in the Blackstone enjoyed learning about St Patrick. We completed worksheets, and did different arts and crafts pieces which we then displayed on our noticeboard.  

Seed Planting

Clients at the Centre have enjoyed planting seeds to grow over the coming months. Seeds we have planted include: Cabbage, Peas, Peppers, Sunflowers, Dahlias, Carrots, Beetroot, Squash, Cucumber, Pumpkin, Cherry tomato, St Pierre tomato, Moneymaker tomato, Begonias, Marigolds, Basil, Parsley, Coriander, California poppy & Geraniums.  

Valentines Wreath

We repurposed our Christmas wreath for Valentine’s Day. We drew and cut out hearts from paper, foam sheets and added artificial flowers. We then attached them to our wreath and displayed in our key group area for the month of February. “This was brilliant”.
