Recently staff member Aimee became a Chi Me instructor after completing a Level 2 Qualification through Lifedock (accredited by National Open College Network). We have been introducing this activity into sessions both in groups at the Centre and online via Zoom with clients who are remaining at home or shielding.
Chi Me is a similar practice to Tai Chi and is a gentle from of exercise that can be done both in standing and seated positions. It helps to regulate breathing through movement and can have a relaxing effect on those taking part, especially when paired with soothing music.
We recently held a Zoom session with Nicole and Andrew at the Centre and Michael who was at home. The group all took part together and enjoyed a catch up at the end of the session.
Nicole said it was very relaxing and Andrew said it was good to talk to friends.
