We have really enjoyed taking part in art therapy with Nikki ( empathy creations) funded by Aghalee Village Hall We made keyrings and necklaces Bee tealight holders Halloween marbling crafts      

??Autumn??

The Villa Group enjoyed doing a project on Autumn, we learnt facts, did wordsearches, follow directions and draw activities and fingerprint art. We also took part in Halloween activities: pumpkin skittles, Halloween activity books, carving pumpkins, learning how to draw bats and pumpkins, fancy dress, stick the smile on the pumpkin, clay

Donations

During the month of September clients took part in 5k a day to raise funds for Dementia NI and Autism NI with both charities receiving £430 each. We all thoroughly enjoyed getting out in the fresh air to complete our laps. Well Done to everyone who took part, and we would like

Autumn

We are currently learning about Autumn, and part of our art work was to put leaves on a tree trunk. Some of the group did this by finger painting the leaves and others drew leaves on the trunk/branches. We also did chalk art drawings around leaves.  

Recycling Week

For recycling week we saved our bottles and lids to make piggy banks. We really enjoyed doing this activity as group.    

Pumpkins?

Clients at the Centre have been helping to grow pumpkins in our garden. Have a look at some of our pumpkins we picked recently to get ready to carve them at Halloween time, and make delicious pumpkin soup.  

Crafts with Naomi in AVH

On 13/9/22 a small group of clients enjoyed making their way up to Aghalee Village Hall to take part in arts and crafts. Naomi showed us how to make Cactus plants using stones, paints, pebbles and decorative items.    

Clay Crafts at AVH

On 8/9/22 a group of clients went up to the local Aghalee Village Hall and took part in a clay art and craft session with Nikki funded by the hall. We all enjoyed the session, and had great fun making our wall decorations. Look at our fab pics below:  

??National Read a Book Day??

On 6th September clients celebrated ‘National Read a Book Day’, this is an awareness day that encourages all of us to get reading. Clients rediscovered some old favourites as well as delving into some newer books. We also used the Interactive Story Puzzle (“Little Red Riding Hood”) to ensure all clients could

Homegrown ?

Clients at the Centre have been keeping busy helping to grow pumpkins and tomatoes. We have been looking after them and watering them regularly, and have had a good crop this year. The best part is we get to take them some of them home when they are ready-the tomatoes where delicious!!

?Summer Closure Dates ?

Just a reminder that the Centre will break for summer closure on Friday 22nd July 2022 and will re-open on Monday 8th August 2022. We hope you all have a relaxing 2 weeks off, and keep safe. ?
