Earth Day 2023 was celebrated on 22nd April and the clients within the Centre decided to join in a range of activities which centred around this year’s theme of “Invest in our Planet”. National pet Month ran from 1st April – 1st May this year and to celebrate this the Blackstone group learnt a lot about pet care. We learnt to make sure our pets are fed, watered, bathed, taken to vet if unwell and making sure our pets get enough exercise. The group completed

Today we said goodbye to our 2 friends David & Leanne who both have decided to try out new things. Both clients have attended Centre for approximately 30 years, and have enjoyed taking part in many different activities over the years. We wish you both well in the future.
During the month of February, the Blackstone worked on a Dinosaur project. We made dino fossils from salt dough and pasta/sand. We painted dinosaurs for our display board.
Clients at the Centre have enjoyed taking part in various activities to celebrate St Patrick’s Day activities including: arts and crafts reasons why we are lucky shamrocks worksheets party and games bingo Sensory Stories
Today clients enjoyed making pancakes which we put our favourite toppings on, including, Nutella and lemon and sugar. We had good fun trying to flip the pancakes in the pan. Some groups also completed pancake related worksheets, and word searches and Sharon came up with a poem about pancakes she would like
The villa clients have enjoyed taking part in art therapy with Nikki, funded by the local Aghalee Village Hall. We made positive affirmation books, and framed artwork which we produced ourselves, using different shapes, lines, pens, chalks, pastels, charcoal to help express how we are feeling.
