We have been very busy creating our Christmas craft barn orders: decopauge Christmas themed bottles, frosted candle jars and Christmas gift labels. We also took part in creating a piece for the E-card Christmas card. We used recycled materials to create “Santas window” and used other pieces of cardboard and polystyrene to create a winter theme with Candy canes, penguins, snowmen and wreaths. We also used this as our Christmas display which we have placed proudly on our display board. Everyone had lots of fun creating this piece and we all worked hard on our different pieces to create our Christmas masterpiece!
During our planning sessions, Colin suggested we make “Snow globes” with our picture in the middle of these. Everyone was really looking forward to making these to take home. We painted paper plates with glitter for an extra sparkle, glued our picture onto the middle, added the polystyrene beads for our “snow” and added cling film over the top before gluing these together to create our snow globes.
We had time in between for a Christmas educational project- we chose to learn about the different traditions around the world at Christmas time – we learnt how to say Merry Christmas in different languages, we learnt what other people eat on Christmas day and even learnt that some people celebrate Christmas day on Christmas eve!
After all our hard work the past few weeks, we decided to make ourselves some shortbread to enjoy with Christmas music and a cup of tea!
Have a look at our pictures 😊
