The Centre has once again been awarded Makaton friendly status by the Makaton Charity. This is in recognition of the range of Makaton based activities on offer within the Centre. Our Makaton choir have designed their own logo and this has been printed onto t-shirts for the choir to wear during performances.
On Tuesday 5th March clients at the Centre enjoyed making pancakes and crepes for Shrove Tuesday. Clients enjoyed making the pancakes from scratch especially putting different toppings on them . Toppings included; lemon and sugar nutella maple syrup banana and toffee sauce.
On 20/2/19 Local Health Development Practioner (SETrust) Caroline McGrath gave a talk on Healthy Eating. Caroline discussed the different food groups, the amount of sugar and fat in sweets/foods. Clients enjoyed guessing the amount of sugar they thought was in food and some where surprised at some of the results.
Clients at the Centre have been enjoying attending Lisburn Bowl on a Monday afternoon as part of active lifestyles. We had a great evening at our Pub Quiz in the Ballymac in November and are pleased to inform you that we raised £1057.00. The Fundraising/Client Committee agreed £200.00 of this would be donated to the Dog’s Trust.
