Here in the music room we have been missing taking part in our Group Assistant Award. We have been taking part in revision sessions in order to maintain our skills that we have gained from taking part in this.
The Group Assistant Award was set up to encourage and promote the development of our motivational skills, help us develop our job skills, empower us to take responsibility for tasks within a supervised setting and promote our independence and boost our self-esteem. Unfortunately the Group Assistant Award is currently suspended due to Covid-19 restrictions.
During our client meeting we chatted with Kelly-Marie and suggested ideas on how to do some of these activities which we have missed doing. Theresa has missed brushing the floors after lunch and answering the phones, Patricia wanted to take responsibility for emptying the ladies bathroom bin and Timothy , Colin and John are very keen to empty the waste bins into their correct bin outside. Kelly-Marie suggested taking turns to do the Orientation board, which we all eagerly agreed too! Kelly-Marie will designate someone to complete the board that morning with the day, date, month, year, the weather, who is in the room that day (staff & clients), what activities/sessions are taking place and who is responsible for answering the phones, brushing the floor and emptying the waste bins.
Below are some pictures of us carrying out our activities which we have really missed!
